Sweet birch (all forms)

Native to eastern North America, sweet birch is a common aromatic tree with a volatile oil in its bark resembling wintergreen. Sweet birch oil is used to add wintergreen flavor to dessert, baked goods and candy. It is also used in cosmetics, shampoos, perfumes and medicinally in ointments and balms.
